Each fall and spring, BFC offers weekly classes and groups where you can learn, deepen your faith, and become more like Jesus in various dimensions of your life.  We call them “electives” because you have choices. Elective sessions focus on Bible teaching, discussion with others, and the application of God’s truth to one’s life. Typically, an elective is 8 to 10 weeks in length, depending on the type of class or group.

Watch Your Mouth: Understanding the Power of the Tongue

Room 122
Begins March 29

During this topical Bible study, we’ll be utilizing a video series by Dr. Tony Evans, founder and senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas. Each week, we’ll have a twenty minute engaging video, followed with discussion of Scripture passages and application questions. This elective class is being facilitated by Pastor Mike Brooks.

During the five weeks of the Bible study, we’ll examine some of what the Bible teaches about talking:

  • The power of the spoken word to bolster one’s faith when we are in seasons of doubt
  • Discern what should or shouldn’t be said so that we honor God with our speech
  • Grow in our ability to praise God and voice wisdom even in tough circumstances.

The book by the same name as the title of the Bible study will be available for $10. Watch Your Mouth will meet in Room 122, Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., March 29-April 26.
