Bethany First Church offers many opportunities to volunteer time and services in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ to people everywhere, including our own community. Teams travel throughout the year to work on building projects, teach classes, minister to children, and provide clothing and other needs. We are currently sending teams to Swaziland, Paraguay, New Mexico, and Arizona to minister to the Native Americans. Another way of serving is to participate in World Missions Giving.

World Missions Giving

The Church of the Nazarene supports over 700 missionaries in 159 world areas where we share about the love and compassion of Christ. We also have missionaries in creative assess countries who are ministering in the name of Jesus. The Church is actively involved during times of disaster through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries.

Swaziland Partnership

The Swaziland Partnership is a joint effort of Bethany First Church and Southern Nazarene University to come alongside the country of Swaziland in their battle against AIDS and to help orphaned and vulnerable children. Swaziland has the highest rate of HIV and tuberculosis in the world. Over 600 people have joined short-term teams to serve in Swaziland.

Native American Partnership

Our Native American Partnership began out of our desire to serve Native American churches across New Mexico and Arizona. We assist with new church roofs, floors, and other renovations. We help equip leaders in Celebrate Recovery and have a significant role in developing future Native American pastors with a Pastoral Training Center.

Mission to Paraguay

Bethany First Church has been engaged in a Mission to Paraguay since 2015. We work with Nazarene missionaries Rev. Barry and Charlie Carney by supporting their efforts to create a new Seminary and School of Missions in AsunciĆ³n, Paraguay. The Carneys also have big dreams for a new soccer ministry for children.

Links Missionaries

Each year, BFC “links” up with several Nazarene missionaries families from around the world, providing them with a more personal connection to a local church, and providing BFC with valuable insight into the life and work of missionaries abroad. BFC supports these missionaries throughout the year by praying for them, writing letters, providing cash for personal needs, and remembering them and their children on their birthdays, at Christmas, and on anniversaries.

Mission Books

Mission books broaden our understanding of what God is doing around the world. They give us a glimpse into how the gospel is being spread and some of the people God is using to further his kingdom. From biographies to exciting stories, missionary books show us how the Church of the Nazarene is interacting with the world around us.

Local Mission Chapters

Missionary Chapters bring the world to our doorstep. Each month, these chapters join together to hear what God is doing in the world. Missionary speakers bring first-hand news of the challenges and rewards of sharing God’s love around the world. Request information on joining one of these groups.
