Focus on Women's Ministries
By Pastor Mike Brooks
I want to invite you to join me in offering a HUGE thank you to Deanna Thomason for giving such passionate and caring leadership to BFC Women’s Ministries for the past several years. She told me last spring that it was time her to make a transition. Ministries are effective and Christ-centered because of people like Deanna. Also, in this transition, Deanna has stayed committed to providing leadership for the upcoming Friends For the Journey Women’s Retreat, for which we are grateful!
I’d like to “officially” welcome our new Director of Women’s Ministry, Tillanie Franks!! Tillanie has been active in Women’s ministry, serving on the leadership team. In addition to working on the IF Conference team, she’s directed the annual Ladies’ Spring Tea in a great way for the past couple of years. Now, she has volunteered to assume the role of providing guidance and leadership as we move forward. So, please join me in giving a big “Shout Out” in welcoming Tillanie!
Here’s a big event, Ladies, that I hope you’ll take advantage of- the Friends For The Journey Retreat, October 28-30 at Ada Lodge down at Falls Creek campground. What a nice place in a great setting!
The past retreats have been such key catalysts for connecting with Jesus and friends in a restful, but energizing experience. I guess I’m also excited for you to be around this year’s speaker. Jan Johnson is an author of a number of books. I find benefit in my relationship with Jesus from Jan’s writings and teaching ministry. I figure if a guy- even a guy like me- benefits from being around her, then how much more will sharp women be able to enjoy her?!
This is one ministry event that I trust will be a one of those “touchstone” or “benchmark” experiences for you. All the info you need is on the FFTJ info/registration card available here at the church, or online at bethanynaz.org/friends-for-the-journey.
